André Robinson
André Robinson is a Community and Cultural Organizer, Activist and Consultant with a background as a Director, Producer, Writer, and Creative Place-Maker. He has devoted his life’s work to the implementation and advocacy for inclusive revitalization and growth.
For more than 40 years, he has been working in community, talent, and cultural development, racial equity training, board and organizational capacity and civic engagement. He has served in executive and creative leadership capacity for films, television, music, conferences, special events and cultural activations across the country, including both national and international tours.
Mr. Robinson’s current project – building broad networks of community development around Baltimore City – has expanded to real estate development, incubation of green tech industries, workforce and business development, diversity adoption training, and creative place-making while serving the expansion of conscious communities everywhere. He just recently served as Consultant to Baltimore Department of Housing and Community Development for the Community Catalyst Grant Program, and works as a DEI & Programming Consultant to Iona Concepts, LLC, City Life Community Builders, and the East Baltimore Historical Library, among others
Although he continues to work across the country, his home base of Baltimore, MD, serves as the platform for his neighborhood and network revitalization projects. Current and recent initiatives include Innovation Villages Baltimore, Historic Marble Hill Neighborhood Association, Westside Renaissance Partners, and the Social Determinants of Heath Taskforce for the State of Maryland. He is Founder/CEO of the Robinson Group, LLC, Co-Founder of Baltimore Community Prosperity, LLC with Dr. Allen Y. Tien of mdLogix, and the Co-Founder and CEO of Revitalize:Baltimore.
Mr. Robinson also serves on the board of the Innovative Housing Institute, chairs the Development Committee for Westport Economic Community Development Corporation, VP of Board of Trustees for RoundEarth.org, and as Executive Producer for Syren Entertainment+Media Group, and Carbon Fibre Media, a graphical content and creative studio shop based in Bed-Sty, Brooklyn NY. For the city of Greensboro, NC, he recently completed city-wide restorative justice, police accountability, and economic and racial equity initiatives with the Beloved Community Center.
Additionally, he held positions as Managing Director of Belafonte Enterprises (NY), Executive Producer for My Image Studios (NY), Producer/Director of Goodfellas of Baltimore (Fox 45), Associate Producer of the cult comedy hit, Friday, (starring Chris Tucker), Technical Director for Sony Music, Artistic Director of The Roger Furman Theater (Harlem), Producer of The Harlem Week Festival and the Harlem Music Festival for the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, Facilities Manager for Walt Disney Interactive and Disney Online (North Hollywood), Executive Producer for New Jersey's Crossroads Theatre Company, (Tony Award recipient for Outstanding Regional Theater and 4 Tony Award nominee including Best Musical) for It Ain't Nothin’ But The Blues, as well as Executive Director of The Black Filmmaker Foundation (NY & LA).
Mr. Robinson is proud to have served in the development and construction/rehabilitation of facilities for Crossroads Theater, My Image Studios, The Lincoln Theater, Roger Furman Theater, Linen Life Gallery, Disney Interactive, Disney Online. He is currently working on the Baltimore Innovation GrOZone.
Mr. Robinson is avid urban farmer.
